According to the propaganda passed in that period, the constructed building should have public use and also impress people. This was helpful to make the architects to think wise and build economical structures. The most effective character that prevailed in the minds of people in Rome was team spirit and pride towards the nation, which made them special among others. It has to be greatly appreciated that this craft survived various threats involving defeat in cultural status. This piece of architecture is proved to be in existence more than four thousand years of its history and remains a living art even today. The astonishing feature is that, the principle design is not affected. In its dawn, the Chinese Architecture made use of wood and bamboos for construction. But having experienced the adverse effects in using wood as construction material, the architects replaced it with bricks long before 1500 BC. The Songyue Pagoda stands as an evidence to prove the strength and utility of using brick as a construction material.

The important facts to be taken care in constructing the buildings are to know the need and mean of it. The needs are nothing but the basic requirements like shelter and security. And the mean is nothing but the availability of raw materials used in the construction process. In context, “Architecture” is the term given to the craft which is highly distinct. Whereas, the term “vernacular architecture”, is given to buildings, which are constructed using available resources in the locality. Though it is seen as a low cost construction technique, it is not encouraged to practice this. In these buildings the style is missing, but it has great bond with nature. The important criterion is that, the aesthetic value of the building is lost. Today this technique is practiced only in few places like resorts, villages, hilly regions, etc.
