Islamic Architecture

Islamic Architecture is a completely different type of architecture. It is based on both the religious and secular style. The dome on the top of the building distinguishes it from the other architectures. There are various majestic Islamic buildings which draws everyone’s attention. From the dawn of the Islamic religion, until today, they have been passionate towards conquering and ruling. As a part of proving their power to the enemy nation they developed the practice of building huge structures. Almost all the Islamic structures lack stone carvings or sculptures. But they made them look beautiful by improving the environment around the structure. Palace, Tomb, Mosque and Fort are the principle types of Islamic Architecture. They used precious stones to decorate the interior and the exterior of their building. The Islamic Architecture reduced the number of pillars and other disturbances in the building. Their architecture concentrated mostly on having a spacious area under the roof. They raised the aesthetic value around the place by constructing fountains, gardens, etc. The best example of Islamic Architecture is Taj Mahal. Emperor Shah Jahan built this structure in memory of Mumtaz Mahal – his wife.

Ancient Architecture

The Architectures seen today are only the alternate phase of the ancient architectures which had explicit thoughts of developing their architectural ideas. Even today complex tasks in building constructions can have its solution derived from its ancestral part. There are many civilizations worldwide which had proved its importance in architectural aspects like Egyptian civilization, Mesopotamian civilization, Indus Valley civilization, etc. These civilizations had innovative ideas in architecture and developed many concepts in this field. Some of the important achievements made during this period were constructing tanks for water storage, drainage of flood water, water and fire resistant housing, and so on. Many civilizations extended their thoughts towards divine structures. It was also the enforcement of the rulers of that particular civilization to build huge buildings, so that they can prove their political power to the enemy nation. On the other side of the plate, the architectures of Romans and Greeks evolved from the idea of urbanization rather than spiritual basis. They concentrated more on developing the social status of the entire community in which they lived instead of selfish nature.
